My concentration is to use the structural aspects of bridges to show the principles of art. I try to realisticly depicted how the bridges interact with there surroundings and create the illusion of depth. I use lines and shapes to create those illusions.

The bottom one is awesome. I know how huge that canvas was to work with and for me that would be intimidating. great work steven your concentration is looking good!
Your style is so cool Steven, somehow you make things look real even though it's really brushy. I guess? I think you were born with a wonderful sense of perspective, or something. On the bottom piece, the bottom left corner feels unfinished, particularly the light blue freeway column. It attracts all of my attention; I think it would benefit from some more value or depth added to it.
BUT: I also like how the left side feels a little unfinished, because it's kindof that edge-of-the-world, bridge to nowhere type of thing. Which would be an interesting bridge to do (a bridge to nowhere)!
i know we gave you a hard time about getting to work but im really impressed with how much progress you made on the last day. Your use of color really gives the painting a lot of life. I love how if you look at both photos of the portland piece on you blog, one looks like a sunny day in longbeach and the other looks like another dreary day in portland. lol
